For Julianna & Garrett’s wedding, I mostly worked with the parents of the bride to create a fusion of the family’s desire for a beautiful event and the couple’s personal touches they wanted to maximize throughout the day. On the order were neutral colors- but not too white, fun- but with sophisticated surroundings, and a nod to both the groom’s favorite treat ,Doughnuts, and to the bride’s family heritage Italian baked goods. We had our work cut out for us in the best way!

Our first order of business was getting the color palette to be just the right amount of color in the non-flashy and neutral zone. I looked to the venue: The Grand Hall of Union Station at Crowne Plaza Indianapolis, for inspiration in this scheme. Included were the colors seen throughout the ornamental walls of the great historical venue, and it blended beautifully. Throwing in a luxurious table linen from A Classic Party Rental, called Fiona Champagne that had embroidered leaves, was a subtle touch that really made a difference when sitting there taking in the beauty.

The entryway was such a passion project as this family wanted to warm up the area where guests would be waiting for the big reveal of the room in between the ceremony and reception. The entry was filled with warm candlelight, floral accents, a wow-moment for the escort card display, a pianist playing in the background, soft seating, specialty drinks at the bar, and a decorated bathroom with chairs and mints to make it feel cozier. With coffee tables and side tables all containing candlelight as well, this went from a large caverounous grand central station hallway- to a piano lounge!

For the escort cards, I designed a different emblem for each meal choice so that the catering staff knew who ordered shrimp, beef, vegetarian, or kids meals based on the image on their escort card

It was truly a wonderful night and beautiful room, but there was another surprise after dinner!

A decked out dessert bar! We had 7 different bakeries/vendors and over 30 different items to choose from. This was a gorgeous table and I greatly appreciate getting to use my background in Pasty Arts to create a table display for all of the goodies.

Review from Father of the Bride: “Elizabeth started as our flower vendor but became much more. We chose Elizabeth to provide flowers for our daughter’s wedding due to her professional approach and the confidence she demonstrated during our initial consultation. As we continued to work toward the big day, we enlisted Elizabeth’s help with our overall event design, and the “sweetest” part of her services was her design of a sweets table that was revealed to our guests as dinner concluded.

Our reception was at Indianapolis Union Station Grand Hall, and her design for this space highlighted the classic decor and architecture. She incorporated the linen, florals of varying heights, lighting, and seating arrangement to create a balanced and elegant space. For the entrance, Elizabeth displayed candles and greenery that elegantly transported our guests into our event. For the ceremony, she added the right touch and did not take away from the beauty of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church’s sanctuary. For the sweets table, she incorporated cookies from an Italian bakery in Chicago, gummy bears from Northwest Indiana, and petit fours, macrons, and mini-pies from local Indianapolis bakeries with a large, colorful arrangement that created a wow factor amongst all the incredible desserts.

We are grateful for Elizabeth’s leadership and support throughout the planning and during the big day. She made many stressful aspects of the process manageable and kept us on track. Her involvement made the day stress-free for us and created beautiful spaces that made the day memorable for everyone–especially our daughter and son-in-law.”
