Yanna and Casey’s old-world wedding was nothing short of a floral fantasy. Yanna had a vision of highlighting every area of her venue where guests would travel through with a cohesive design. We were able to bring this dream to life, creating a day that was both magical and unforgettable. Join me as we reminisce on this beautiful October wedding that I had the pleasure in assisting with design, logistics, and the dessert table as well as floral design.

Yanna’s choice of a petite bridal bouquet was an intentional and sophisticated statement. The bouquet, composed of peonies and roses, exuded elegance and simplicity, allowing the beauty of the blooms to shine. In contrast, the bridesmaids carried delicate baby’s breath bouquets, which added a touch of ethereal charm to their formal black dress attire.

As guests arrived the were greeted in several areas down the pathway they had to walk to get to the ceremony location. Our lovely bride, who is also a creative, did all of her own stationery and signage. She created mirrors with emblems and messages on them, so we wanted to decorate her efforts to keep people wowed at every turn.

One of the standout features of Yanna and Casey’s wedding was the stunning floral backdrop. We kept it very organic and natural. Since Yanna loves magnolia branches for their velvety-brown underside, we made sure to include that in the design and that is what really pulled in the vintage/ old-world aspects into the florals. Lush blooms of white and neutral coloring were woven into the greenery like veins in a marble slab. This is one of my primary artistic styles, and I loved that Yanna trusted me to create this piece. The floral wall served as the focal point for the ceremony, creating a breathtaking setting for the couple’s vows. After the ceremony, the floral backdrop was repurposed for the reception, where it became a popular photo spot for guests.

The Manor-style venue has 4 fireplaces on the main level, which all got decorated, and this is one of our favorite examples of truly ‘dressing-up’ your wedding venue to make it your own on your special day.

Our boxwood wall became the perfect backdrop to hang the couple’s ornate mirror that showed the seating chart. We wrapped the bottom in a custom moulding to keep it architectural and high-end.

Making sure her guests were getting to experience the wedding, after traveling from afar, in a way that said “we know you and thank you for being here!” she let us help her create a dessert table concept with multiple miniature desserts for the guests, because she knew they would like that better than cake. After dinner service a door was opened, and a new experience unveiled for the guests to partake in while dancing the night away, being serenaded by a jazz band.

Yanna is another bride that joined our ‘week of’ event team at Satin and Stems. We are so luck to have her!
