Elyse & Kevin’s Summer Wedding

Band stage decorated with custom hydrangea flower wall

Elyse and Kevin’s wedding holds a special place in my heart. It is one I love sharing time and time again. If you are thinking of having a blue and white wedding, this blog will be full of inspiration for you! Here’s what Elyse has to say after the wedding:

“Where do I begin?! Elizabeth was truly a favorite & dream vendor of mine. She was professional, kind, beyond creative, and a complete visionary. I have been saving images of florals for half of my life and she truly made every single one of my dreams come true. And it is no exaggeration that she outdid all of the pictures that I showed her by making recommendations that I did not even know existed! Quite literally nothing stopped her from making my visions come true- she is so inventive and problem solved how to make each and every detail come alive at my wedding. She was available to meet with us as many times as necessary and worked hand in hand with my wedding planner so well. I will never, ever be able to thank her enough for executing to perfection one of the most important details of my wedding.”

The bouquets:

Elyse’s bouquet included white roses, peonies, and sweet pea. Subtle hints of blue delphinium and tweedia gave us those summer vibes without overpowering the bridal feel.

The bridesmaids wore classic black gowns and their bouquets included the same lush blooms as Elyse’s bouquet. On either side of the steps stood large arrangements to bring in the color palette and the large hydrangeas that Elyse loved so much.

Cocktail Hour:

Cocktail hour was held in The Simon Reading room at Indianapolis Central Library. We wanted to keep the cocktails tables simple, so I created a very delicate mini floral arrangement that was indicative of the artistic style brought to the entire design.

Details:

This wedding had no shortage of personal touches! The bride was the ultimate mastermind in bringing every element to life, whether it was personalized branding that included her pup in the crest, or hand-painted champagne glasses for every guest, we wanted to make sure her florals complimented her amazing vision.

Transforming the library venue into a floral escape was no small feat, but the results were nothing short of magical. Each area was thoughtfully designed to reflect the wedding’s theme, with floral installations strategically placed to enhance the space. The bar couldn’t be left un-done! So the couple allowed us to create a design that would accent the architecture and make it much more in-tune with the wedding itself.

We wanted every space to feel cohesive, on theme, and elevated. The hydrangea’s watercolor shades of blue, lavender, green, and white complemented the venue’s accent colors and were used as the main inspiration for the wedding branding.

This attention to detail ensured that the venue felt both expansive and intimate, a place where guests could lose themselves in the beauty of the day.

There were four different types of table designs that we chose for Elyse and Kevin’s reception.

Tall centerpieces can reach up to 9 ft from the floor depending on the risers you use! They help to bring the eye up and create another plane between the tables and the ceiling, which I recommend for high-vaulted rooms.

Long table design- with modern mini floral cups placed down the center and lots of glass and candlelight in between will give the table an incredibly chic look. You want negative space sometimes! This helps the dishware shine.

Candelabras! We added a mini garden at the base to bring in the color palette. This is a great option that is lower than the tall arrangement, but does a different job by putting that candlelight up above the guests. It really SHINES once it gets dark!

Head Tables should stand out! The floral compotes in concrete urns gave this table another dimension. Then, a voluminous hydrangea waterfall off the end created another backdrop for the dance floor.

Elyse and Kevin’s wedding is one that I receive compliments on still, years later. The floral design continues to be a source of inspiration and admiration. This wedding serves as a reminder of the power of flowers to transform a space and create lasting memories
