5 of the most stunning wedding venues in Indianapolis

Odds are that if you get engaged, one of the first things you will think to do is look for a venue. If you are, my first piece of advice is to switch to hiring a planner first. We know a lot about what each venue has in terms of positives and negatives. If a planner isn’t for you, then don’t worry, I’ve got some great advice here! I like to classify venues into time periods. To keep it simple, you can enjoy an Old World aesthetic or a modern one. The following venue’s are not in a particular order.

Old World Aesthetic Venues:

Indiana Roof Ballroom

This venue features a ballroom that transports you to a European city piazza, complete with a starry sky overhead. Not only is the building itself a historic landmark, but it has been preserved to impress and transport your guests to another time period from the moment they step into the lobby. Large renovated bars and top-notch catering are two of the biggest positives this venue provides its clients.

Laurel Hall

Our very own castle on a hill! You will drive through a gated entrance and be mesmerized by the surroundings as you climb the hillside and this gorgeous Jacobethan mansion comes into view. The architecture alone is something to spend hours gazing at, but if you enjoy the feel of an at-home wedding, this may be the venue for you! Whether you want to get married on the lawn or up on the third-floor chapel, it has several options for you to get creative with how you spend the day in this beautiful house. It even just recently renovated the bridal suite and I am loving what they have done with it! One of the most fun facts about this house from a decor stand point is that there are FOUR fireplaces on the main level. That’s a lot of focal points we can make gorgeous for your big day!

Modern Aesthetic Venues

Newfields Art Museum

I have to admit, this one holds a special place in my heart. I think it may be the best mix of both worlds, because you do have access to the pristine backdrop of the Lilly Mansion as well as immaculately tended gardens styled much like an extravagant English estate. Then, you go into the museum’s Deer Pavillion for a reception and it’s a modern marvel of windows and a vaulted ceiling. Complete with one of the city’s best catering teams and Newfields’ in-house event staff is completely dedicated to superb customer service. As a planner I can say, you just can’t go wrong in this space!

Conservatory at Evergreen

She’s new, but when she was finished with construction there was a long line of people waiting to book this lakeside house of glass! Tucked away down a private drive, you would never know this venue was there- but that is a great thing for fun, late-night events! This room features a greenhouse effect in aesthetic, but they have thought of all of the ways to make it a comfortable and epic experience for their guests.

The Palladium, Center for the Performing Arts

You have got to see this place in person to appreciate its artistic beauty, but you have a short window to book a wedding! That exclusivity makes it desirable in my opinion, but don’t worry, it’s open for weddings in the late summer which is a perfect time period! The fact that you get a technical team that works with famous musicians, speakers, and productions means you can do just about ANYTHING here that you can dream up. The area for cocktail hour is just as beautiful, so should you book this venue, you can really provide an experience that your guests won’t likely have anywhere else.

That’s all for now, but definitely not all of our city’s wonderful venues. Check back next month for more insight on the wedding venues in Indianapolis, Indiana.
