I had the honor of serving as the floral designer, and the goal from the beginning was to create something that felt traditional—but with personality layered throughout the design. In my opinion, wedding flowers should never feel standard. They should function as both décor and art, enhancing a space while also telling the story of the couple getting married inside it.

For Clayre’s bouquet, I used Garden Roses and Lisianthus in different colors matching our palette, and then Butterfly Ranunculus for the bounce!

The ceremony was framed by two tall floral pillar installations that acted as a modern take on a traditional arch. Instead of creating a full structure across the top, the design allowed the architecture of the room and the light from the windows to remain visible, which kept the ceremony feeling open and airy. The pillars were built with layered greenery and soft white blooms, with touches of the bride’s color palette woven throughout to add warmth and personality.

This September wedding really allowed me to let my creativity flow when creating a design for their ceremony. We ended up switching what room the ceremony was in and coming up with a new plan that included this very large illusion floral arch! Drawing everyone’s focus to the front and providing the best backdrop for family photos too!

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a cocktail hour. The tables were adorned with garden style centerpieces – just a taste of what awaited them at the reception.

In the reception space, tall floral arrangements in elegant trumpet vases brought height and softness to the room while maintaining an airy feel for guests seated at the tables. The elevated designs allowed the florals to feel full and lush without blocking conversation across the table. Garden-style blooms in white, light peach, vibrant green, and butter yellow were arranged with layered greenery to create movement and texture, echoing the ceremony florals while feeling refined for the reception setting.

The crystal and glass decor on the tables helped the bounce the light within the space, allowing the flowers, candlelight, and the room’s beautiful chandelier to work together to create an atmosphere that felt both timeless and welcoming.

The ceremony arch found new life as a stunning statement piece in their reception room, and yes—our team did it all during cocktail hour. Rather than letting such large-scale designs go unused, we relocated them to frame the fireplace, transforming the area into a meaningful focal point for guests throughout the evening. The pillars were adjusted slightly to work with the architecture of the mantel and mirrors, allowing the florals to feel intentional in their new setting. Surrounded by family photos displayed along the mantel, the arrangements took on a more personal role – turning the installation into a beautiful backdrop that celebrated both the couple and the people who shaped their story.

Wedding floristry should reflect the individuality of each celebration. No two couples are the same, and their flowers shouldn’t be either. When design takes into account the space, the season, and the personalities involved, the florals become more than decoration—they become part of the experience of the day. This wedding was a perfect example of that philosophy in action: classic, thoughtful, and the epitome of quiet luxury.
